TGRA's Dallas Chapter Bringing Rodeo
Back to Town |
 |
Not since 2002 has an IGRA rodeo been held in
Dallas. For the members of TGRA's Dallas Chapter, that's too
long. So TGRA began a movement to bring Finals Rodeo here.
That effort resulted in a formal bid being presented
to the IGRA convention in 2003. In a close competition with
Phoenix and Wichita, Dallas was selected to host the Finals
Rodeo for the first time ever, and only the second time it's
been hosted by TGRA.
Dallas Chapter is excited to welcome the world
to their home next week. They'll be seen all over the arena,
working in every part of the event all weekend long. Dallas
President Mack Williamson will be evident in the arena throughout
the rodeo. He is IGRA's first certified Arena Crew Coordinator.
And his team of volunteers will put in lots of hours making
sure each event is setup efficiently and safely.
Look for Dallas Chapter Treasurer Thomas Montgomery
to be one of the busiest men at the rodeo. He's the Assistant
Rodeo Director. And he'll probably tell you, he takes care
of all the details that keep everything running smoothly.
Wade Earp will not only be competing in the
arena as one of the top contestants on the IGRA circuit. And
he'll also be serving as Contestant Coordinator - answering
the many questions that they'll have all weekend long, and
taking care of their various concerns.
Becky Parsons and Terry Covington will be working
an especially long week as Co-Coordinators of the International
Royalty competition. You'll find them at the Holiday Inn Select
Love Field starting Thursday.
And there are many, many more. The success of
this event will largely be due to all their hard work.
