Running
Order
We are making significant changes to the Running Order of
events and the way contestants are placed in those events.
In general, our objective is to create a short exciting group
of events from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. To accomplish that, some
events will be split between morning performance and afternoon
performance. Other events will only take place in the morning
or only in the afternoon.
For events that are split between both performances, we plan
to schedule the highest-ranked contestants in the afternoon.
For Saturday’s performance, that will be determined
by the national rankings on Friday. For Sunday’s performance,
it will be determined by the Saturday results.
For contestants who are ranked in the top 5 in many events,
we will make adjustments so that horses and contestants are
not over-stressed.
You may ask why we are doing this. And the answer is to make
the rodeo a better show. You may also ask why you should care
about that. We are making every effort to make this rodeo
a Finals that we will long remember. An exciting. competitive
rodeo will ensure that. From a long-term perspective, the
better this rodeo is, the better chance we all have to enjoy
a strong IGRA rodeo circuit for many years to come.
